My Specialty and Why I Chose It

Hello! I am an optometrist at Kaiser Permanente at the Riverside and Lincoln facilities. I currently practice with families doing eye health evaluations. I chose this profession because I like meeting many people and helping many people function better in their life by assisting them with improved vision.

My Practice Philosophy

I value compassion and communication. When many people work together to care for one individual, communication is vital. Educating patients about their eye health allows them to make the best choices for themselves. I value this time with my patients.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I began working on-call with Kaiser Permanente in 2007. In that time I've come to appreciate the diversity of our members and fellow professionals. I have always believed in computerized examinations since graduating 20 years ago and I enjoy this technological advancement commitment that Kaiser Permanente has made to its members.

I have come to appreciate the holistic care being provided to our patients at Kaiser Permanente. The ease of communication throughout our computerized system allows a multi-practitioner approach to caring for each and every patient.

Professional Interests & Affiliations

I have enjoyed a great 20 years in optometry. Prior to graduation I worked at a Low Vision Clinic in Michigan and also an internship at Gesell Institute for children in Connecticut. I was worked with various ophthalmologists and optometrists. I have worked with two different groups of lasik doctors. The most challenging was managing 17 offices and many doctors and achieving the most improved Patient Satisfaction Rating for my region after the first year.

On a Personal Note. . .

Outside of Kaiser Permanente, I have a full life filled with joy! I enjoy the activities at our church. (I tell my husband that I set us up for success so that marketing would help him remember our anniversary on Valentine's Day!) I did not have children until after I was 40 years old so I am very blessed with 4 healthy children. I have always enjoyed the outdoors and photography. My goals is to someday write some books and possibly a movie! When I eventually retire I would like to continue to spend more time in investment trading!
