James Keith Palmer, II, MD

Biography

My family has lived in Santa Rosa since 1991. Prior to that we lived in Larkspur, CA., while I practiced at the San Francisco Kaiser Medical Center. I enjoy hiking, bike riding, tennis, swimming, and skiing when I'm not at work or involved in family activities.

I grew up in Salt lake City, Utah and went to college at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. I received my M.D. degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1977; the fourth generation Palmer to do so.

My internship and residency in urology was spent at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. I spent one year at the M.D. Anderson Cancer and Tumor Institute during residency training.

I joined the Department of Urology at the San Francisco Kaiser facility when I completed my training. I became Chief of that department in 1988. I subsequently became chief of urology in Santa Rosa when we moved here in 1991.

I am Board Certified in Urology and a fellow of The American College of Surgeons, I'm a member of the American Urological Society as well as the Sonoma County Medical Society. I'm also listed in the year 2000 edition of Who's Who in America.
