My Biography

I came to Kaiser Permanente as an Emergency nurse in 1975 because of the medical center’s commitment to excellence and emphasis on preventive care. Thirty-four years later, I see the same commitment. I also appreciate the numerous educational opportunities Kaiser Permanente has to offer. From the perspective of a patient, I think Kaiser Permanente provides a broad array of resources, along with an unwavering dedication to excellence and preventive health care.

In my department, Ophthalmology, I serve as the charge nurse. One of the aspects of my job that I enjoy the most is interacting with patients. I work alongside highly-motivated coworkers who strive to deliver optimal health care to our members. We try to ensure a respectful, positive visit experience. I have a special interest in age-related macular degeneration, owing to a family history of the condition. I also maintain specific interests in conjunctival hemorrhage and styes.

I thrive through riding my stationary bicycle for a half hour each morning, and at work I use the stairs instead of the elevators. My hobbies include travel, reading, cooking, wine tasting, trying out new restaurants, cross-country skiing, and gardening.

Undergraduate Education: RN, Los Angeles County Medical Center, School Of Nursing
Professional Affiliations: California Nurses Association
Began Practice: 1970
Joined Kaiser Permanente: 1975

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
