How to Use My Home Page...

My Biography

Although I was born and raised in the tornado alley of the Texas panhandle and I retain much of my southern hospitality, I have lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for 20 years and I consider San Francisco my home away from home. I knew that working at Kaiser CDRP would provide me with an opportunity to see people change and grow like no other experience could. Seeing people embrace what is taught here and seeing their lives improve after facing the challenges of active addiction is one of the main reasons I chose this profession. I know that Kaiser Permanente is definitely a place where a person is going to be supported and helped through their process and receive the encouragement that is vital in early recovery. I wanted to expand my experience of being a counselor in this supportive model and continue assisting people find their own path to a healthy life in recovery.

I enjoy the connection I feel to an individual when they accept the program. It is such a rewarding experience to see someone take suggestions and make the changes necessary that will be beneficial for them, take the guidance initially and see them again at a later point in time and visibly see the improvement in their lives.

My interests are the arts and nature and I spend every possible moment I can out of the house and enjoying what the Bay Area has to offer and this includes going all over town seeing the sights, hitting the many bike trails for a long bike ride, and most importantly, shopping! I also enjoy lots of movies and spending time with friends and going to the beach. I love showing my friends and family who visit the sights of San Francisco.

During my spare time I enjoy weight lifting, burning calories on the elliptical machine, and hitting the gym at least 4-5 times a week. Meditation helps me with renewal and rejuvenation and my favorite places to go is Santa Cruz or the Marin Headlands.
