I obtained my medical degree from the University of Alexandria School of Medicine in Egypt. I am a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. I am also a member of the American Society of Gynecologic Laparascopists and the American Urogynecologic Society. For more information please refer to my personal web site www.amirhadid.yourmd.com.
In addition to English, I speak French, Arabic, Greek and Italian. When I am not practicing medicine, I enjoy playing the piano, listening to classical music and playing tennis. I have recently taken up yoga in different styles. I am married and have two sons: Tom and James. I really enjoy traveling and have traveled throughout Europe, parts of Africa, Asia and most of the United States.
I am the chair of a domestic violence committee at Kaiser Permanente San Jose and the chair of a medical sub-committee of the domestic violence council of Santa Clara. Currently I am on the committee for establishing a Breast Care Center at Kaiser Permanente San Jose.
I have introduced many new technological advances to our OB/GYN department such as minimally invasive procedures for urinary incontinence and heavy periods. I have taught this to my colleagues locally and through out the region to help patients get the best available treatments.
My clinical interests include Advanced Pelvic Surgery, Urogynecology, Laparoscopy, Breast Health, Colposcopy, Domestic Violence and Minimally Invasive Surgery.
My practice philosophy…
I want my patients to get the best, safest, most advanced treatment for their problems. I like them to be engaged in the decision making process and to discuss all options with them. I want them to understand that our model of health care is based on teamwork with people I trust to take care of my family and I. I also enlighten them on the great advantages they have as members of Kaiser Permanente. I as a physician have only to think about my patients, not to have to deal with insurance companies to authorize care for them, nor do I have to think about financial aspects when I deliver best medical care. We have every thing we need close to hand consults, labs, and pharmacy to name a few. My patients do not need to go shopping for excellent physicians - they are all here.
