About Me

Thank you for taking the time to learn about me and my practice. I hope you find this site informative and useful.

After obtaining my medical degree from Yale University in Connecticut, I completed a residency with Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Oakland, California. I've worked for Kaiser since finishing my OB/GYN residency. I believe Kaiser offers a premier health care system. The abundance of knowledge, the latest medical technology, education/classes, support available here make Kaiser a great place to work and a great place to obtain medical care.

I was born in Taiwan and moved to the US in my early teens. While I'm "fluent" in conversational Mandarian, there are certain medical terminologies for which I am constantly thankful to my wonderful mother who is always patient in translating these words for me. Growing up, uterus, breasts, etc., were not the core of a ten year-old's vocabulary.

While I provide all aspects of Obstetric and Gynecological care, I have special interests in Dysplasia, Minimally Invasive Surgery and Teen Health.

Away from work, I enjoy movies, swimming, fishing, hiking, and fine dining.

My Philosophy of Care

Given the vast array of information and treatment options now available, my goal as a physician is to help guide you through your condition, not only by utilizing the most current evidence-based medical knowledge, but also to take into consideration your clinical situation and personal preferences. Thereby, in collaborating with you in developing action plans that are appropriate and suitable to your life, jointly, we come up with a plan together. That said, PREVENTION is key. I believe that regular exercise, a good diet, and stress reduction are vital ingredients in promoting health.

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
