How to Use My Home Page...

My Biography

I am thrilled to be working with a group of individuals who care about their patients and one another. The Child and Family Team is dedicated to the use of best practices and evidence-based treatment approaches in providing services to a broad spectrum of members. I enjoy the diverse patient population, and I have the convenience of serving the same community that I call home. I knew from an early age that I wanted to spend my days working with children and adolescents. As time went on, I developed an interest in health care. Becoming a clinical child psychologist became my dream and my passion.

The efficiency with which we are able to see patients, document visits, and communicate with other providers in the system is one of the best aspects of the Kaiser’s health care model. Health Connect, our electronic records tool, enables me to review a patient’s medical history at a glance. I can also read notes from other providers on the patient’s care team. I think patients also appreciate the broad array of groups and educational classes that our medical center offers.

What I enjoy most in my day is relieving children and parents’ concerns as we work through the issues that brought them to my office. My special interest is in working with adolescents, with an emphasis on issues around developmental and family systems. In the clinic, I facilitate anger and anxiety management groups, as well as co-facilitate Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), an early intervention therapy for children between the ages of 2 and 8 years and their parents.

In order to “live well and thrive,” a healthy diet and regular exercise are parts of my daily routine. I also believe that laughter is an important component of any healthy lifestyle. Trying to see the glass as half-full rather than half-empty goes a long way towards reducing stress and increasing a sense of well-being. In my spare time, I love to run by the bay, enjoy San Francisco’s numerous festivals and events, cook, read, and shop!

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
