About Me

I received my Bachelor’s Degree at Humboldt State University, Arcata, California in 1988. I received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work at Sacramento State University in 1992.

Being a psychotherapist is my third career. I have a background in design and photography and have been a paralegal. I am married and have two adult sons who are a great joy to me.

I am licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and currently work in the Department of Psychiatry in Folsom as a member of the Bipolar and Complex Trauma Recovery Pathway.

The Bipolar Disorder Pathway services are evidence based treatment. Along with medication treatment, we provide educational classes regarding management and treatment of the disorder (both for patients and their families), psychotherapy groups focusing on interpersonal problems and routine changes that trigger mood episodes and some limited individual short-term psychotherapy when appropriate. A class on mindfulness and mood management is also offered.

I have a special interest in treating trauma and working with families. In my spare time I enjoy interior design, photography, traveling and spending time with my family and friends.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
