About Me

I was born in Oak Park, Illinois and was raised in Hawthorne, California. I graduated from San Jose State University Graduate School of Social Work in 1978 and received my LCSW in 1980. I currently work part time in the Department of Psychiatry for Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento and Roseville. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for the Crisis Team.

The Crisis Team in the Department of Psychiatry provides treatment and intervention for psychological emergencies. Our clinicians work on a multi-disciplinary team that is made up of MDs, Psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and Marriage Family Therapists. We provide treatment and intervention at Sacramento, Morse Avenue and Roseville Parkway out-patient clinics, the Roseville and Sacramento Emergency Departments and the Roseville and Sacramento in-patient medicine units.

I presently work full time for the County of Sacramento Department of Human Assistance as a program manager of the Grand Oaks Bureau and Foster Care Payments Bureau. I have 4 adult children ages 23-28 and 4 foster children ages 3-8 years. We have also assisted in raising many youth that have timed out of foster care as well as homeless teens and young adults. I am bilingual in Spanish and have spent a good deal of time arranging and working in medical clinics in Mexico through Shriner’s Hospital, Los Angeles unit.
