My Specialty and Why I Chose It

My name is Jeff Clifford and welcome to my web page. I am a Senior Physical Therapist and work in the outpatient orthopedic clinic. I see a wide range of musculoskeletal dysfunctions. I have a special interest in treating total knee replacements/arthroplasty and other knee related injuries.

My Practice Philosophy

As a physical therapist, I have the ability to impact people’s lives in a positive way. I help restore mobility, minimize discomfort, enhance function and maximize performance and outcomes, as well as teach prevention programs. I pride myself in individualizing realistic treatment programs, focusing on individual’s unique needs. In doing so, I firmly believe people have to take an active role in participating during their rehabilitation.

My Credentials

B.S., Business Administration University of California, San Jose 1980
M.S., Human Resources / Sports Administration Biscayne College – Florida 1981
B.S., Physical Therapy Chicago Medical School 1992

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I have been with Kaiser Permanente since 1992. I find the multi-disciplinary approach Kaiser Permanente provides is personally rewarding and effective for our patients.

Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente

As a health care provider and member of Kaiser, I can truly say they “practice what they preach.”

  • Teach prevention
  • Implement state of the art computer technology
  • Provide easy access to clinical information
  • Access to a wide variety of continuing education courses
  • Collaboration with peers and physicians

These are the reasons why I enjoy practicing my profession at Kaiser Permanente.

My Professional Interests & Affiliations.

I am currently teaching weekly exercise classes to groups of patients rehabilitating from total knee arthroplasty. Previously, I was involved with teaching exercise classes to patients with low back pain dysfunctions.

On a Personal Note

I have been involved with competitive sports all of my life. I play softball, basketball, and golf. I have been married over 20 years. My wife is a registered nurse with Kaiser Permanente and we are blessed with three wonderful children. I am actively involved with our children’s competitive soccer and dance commitments. My wife and I are devoted to our faith and family.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
