My Biography

My connection with Kaiser Permanente began at birth—literally. I was born at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco and grew up as a member. After completing my education, I was very excited about the opportunity to return to San Francisco to work at Kaiser Permanente. Not only was I thrilled to return to the city that I love, but as a former Kaiser Permanente member, I had experienced first-hand the benefits of Kaiser Permanente’s comprehensive care model and I looked forward to being a part of that model as a physician.

I fell in love with the field of pathology during my third year of medical school, for both its challenge and breadth. Having seen a couple of loved ones receive their diagnoses and treatments, I am always keenly aware that a patient is awaiting the results of his/her recent biopsy or surgical procedure, and I approach each case with respect and care. Although I bring a wide spectrum of knowledge and preparation to my role here at Kaiser Permanente, areas of particular interest to me include gynecologic and urologic pathology.

When not at work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, and I try to take advantage of the Bay Area’s outdoor opportunities as often as possible by hiking in Marin and the East Bay, cycling on the Peninsula, and walking through San Francisco. I also very much enjoy the terrific food the Bay Area offers, from fresh organic produce at farmers’ markets to fine restaurants.
