Welcome to My Home Page!
I have worked in mental health settings since 1980, and in the specific field of addiction treatment since about 1985. I have been with Kaiser Permanente since 1995, when I served as the first Post-Doctoral Fellow at Kaiser Chemical Dependency Recovery Program (CDRP) in San Francisco. Following the completion of my Post-Doc year, I worked at Kaiser Permanente Hayward (@ Union City) Chemical Dependency Services (CDS) where I was a member of the Adolescent Chemical Dependency treatment team for about a year. In 1997, I transferred to my current assignment at Martinez (@ Pleasant Hill) CDS. In addition to a strong interest in addictive and compulsive disorders (including codependency and behavioral addictions), I also have a background in treating anxiety disorders and depression, as well as a specialization in working with young adults and adolescents.
In addition to my work at Kaiser Permanente, I also have a small private practice serving non-Kaiser Permanente clients in Danville and Berkeley.
Outside interests that help me stay healthy include music (playing it as well as listening), Tai Chi, hiking and bicycling. I enjoy books, art and films from a wide variety of genres.

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
