My Biography
I know it may sound odd, but I honestly believe that I was called to work at Kaiser Permanente. In a sense, I have a lengthy history here. Not only was I a “Kaiser Permanente baby,” my father was a Kaiser Permanente employee for 35 years. My older sister is a pediatrician at Kaiser Permanente’s Stockton facility. So for me, working at Kaiser Permanente is like working with family, and I take deep pride in my role here. Kaiser Permanente’s health care system is designed to deliver the highest level of satisfaction for every member who passes through our doors. In the Chronic Pain Management Center, we are certainly committed to providing you with a positive visit experience. We are attentive and accessible to our members.
Since I consider myself to be a people person, I very much enjoy interacting with members. For all the technology that exists in our modern world, nothing has replaced the genuine, personal effect of human contact. As a licensed acupuncturist, I am interested in how acupuncture affects members’ quality of life in a positive way. I believe a miraculous aspect of acupuncture exists, real and tangible, and I do acknowledge this. To help keep current on developments in the field, I attend the California State Acupuncture Association’s annual conferences.
Away from work, I enjoy music, art, visiting museums, painting, nature, and travel. One of my favorite activities is traveling worldwide to visit local healers in countries such as Brazil, Vietnam, Cuba, and China. When I arrive at the villages, I always ask to see the person considered to be the expert healer. These trips give me a different perspective on how I work with people.
I THRIVE by engaging in a daily mindfulness practice, walking each day, watching what I eat, hiking on trails, getting the proper amount of sleep, and both giving and receiving daily massage. I also feel that laughing every day is an essential, often overlooked, part of thriving. I look forward to working with you to improve your lifestyle.
