My Biography

Kaiser Permanente is in the forefront of lobbying for initiatives that are beneficial to Californians, such as getting sodas out of school cafeterias, supporting Healthy Living grants, and working in partnership with the community. Kaiser places emphasis on areas other than disease management, including prevention, wellness promotion, and alternative medicine. It’s a privilege to work in the same community in which I live.

We are fortunate to have a great, inspiring team in our department. We all love our jobs and we maintain a very positive environment. My colleagues are awesome people who are devoted to improving members’ lives. Most of my work here is focused around pediatric weight management, diversity, and nutrition programs. I serve on the medical center’s African American Health Initiative, the Health Literacy Workgroup, Weight Management Task Force and the Diversity Steering Committee. I am also a member of Kaiser’s Dragonboat team!

Outside of work, I love traveling, and have spent time living in Ecuador and backpacking South America on several trips. I like to read and to spend time exploring San Francisco’s neighborhoods. I am active in Sahaita, a grassroots non-profit organization primarily serving the immigrant Indian community. The organization provides health resources for those without health insurance. I also give health education talks in the community, mostly for an after-school program in the Mission district.

I THRIVE by going on a run during my lunch hours, walking, dancing, and hanging out with friends and family. I live in the city with my wonderful husband.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
