About Me
I have been working with families for the past seventeen years. In 1989 I began working as a counselor with teenagers and their families. In 2001 I began working with individuals, couples and families as a therapist in a non-profit mental health clinic as part of my internship, and have been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since May 2006. One of the things I like most about working with families is seeing the power of love and people’s abilities to heal. I believe that women who have substance use problems are often trying to cope the best they can with the problems of life, and that once given better tools they can make better choices. I see pregnancy as a special time in a woman’s life, and a time that often motivates women to make positive changes in their lifestyles. I am excited to be a part of the Early Start Program, and to have an opportunity to support women in having healthy, happy pregnancies and healthy, happy babies.
On a Personal Note
I grew up in the Bay Area, and have lived in the Sacramento area for the past eighteen years. I am a mom to three old and cranky cats. I enjoy traveling, camping, cooking, reading, going to the movies, and I knit a little.
