How to Use My Home Page...
My Biography
I began my career at Kaiser Permanente as a night shift nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, while I was still a graduate student. I quickly fell in love with this community and decided to stay at Kaiser after I received my degree. The unique structure of the Kaiser’s comprehensive health care system allows me to bridge my work in the Intensive Care Nursery with my practice in the outpatient Department of Pediatrics.
I maintain a special interest in newborn intensive care, and I focus my practice in the area I enjoy most: working with families whose babies had experienced difficult births and had to stay in the intensive care nursery. My happiest days at the medical center are when I run into a parent chasing a laughing toddler down the hall, realizing that I cared for this child in the hospital back when he or she weighed less than two pounds.
I have two sons and enjoy spending my free time with my family. We love hiking and rock-climbing the most, but we also do other fun things with our friends. I thrive by eating fruit, drinking plenty of water, and through caring for those who around me. I look forward to working with you at San Francisco Medical Center.

Why a Pediatrician
Why a pediatrician? Why do kids need a specialist? Because kids are different. And so are the doctors that choose to take care of kids.
Pediatrics is the medical specialty that is fully focused on kids: from birth through the exciting and tumultuous years of adolescence.
Pediatricians are trained for 4 years in medical school to become a doctor and then have three full years of extra training in how to take care of kids and teens. Some pediatricians have additional training in a subspecialty area like cardiology, pulmonology, or hematology. Our department has general pediatricians and specialist pediatricians to make sure that your children stay healthy and, if they get sick, that they get the best care possible.
Pediatricians believe that your children start healthy. We are trained to focus on prevention of problems and work with families for the betterment of children. We love children and, in truth, most of us are big kids ourselves.
In the pediatric department, we look forward to caring for your family as it grows.
