Welcome to My Home Page!
I have designed this home page to let you know a little about me and my philosophy of care.
Before joining Kaiser, I worked briefly in a community clinic in San Jose. I've been with Kaiser Permanente in Fresno since 1987. I am originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. I went to school in Oakland, I attended high school in San Jose, and went to college at Stanford University. I went to medical school in San Francisco then moved to Fresno for my residency in Family Practice at Valley Medical Center. I am an avid sports fan and still follow the Bay Area teams, including the Stanford Cardinal Basketball Team, as well as our local Bulldogs. I am married and have two older children in college. Go Anteaters! I enjoy travel and often trade travel tips with my patients. I also enjoy riding motorcycles. I speak Spanish and enjoy keeping up the language with many of my patients.
My practice philosophy is consistent with the philosophy of Family Medicine. I believe in working in partnership with my patients and their families to provide the best care possible, including preventive care. I provide information, guidance, and resources for my patients to take control of their health. Working together we can achieve the best outcomes.
Patients occasionally ask about my phone number or e-mail address. You can reach me by calling our Clovis office number. Our call center is often able to handle my patient’s needs, even after hours or weekends. They are also able to send messages to me electronically. I check these messages several times a day and have my Medical Assistant call back with the appropriate response. Unfortunately, my phone mail and office e-mail will sometimes get backed up as I prioritize my time for my patient appointments and messages. I don't like to keep my patients waiting as their time is as important as mine. Fortunately, Kaiser has great resources to help me care for my patients.
An exciting feature is a confidential e-mail system for non-urgent messages that can wait for 48 hours. Check it out! Click on the "E-mail your doctor" link under my contact information at the top of the page. For refills or appointments it is still better to call our office number or the pharmacy directly. Some appointments and refills can be done online.
