Welcome to the Genetics Multi-Specialty Clinics at Oakland Kaiser!

About Me

I am a nutritionist with a Master's degree in Public Health, and have over 22 years experience in the health and nutrition field. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Nutrition Science from the University of Illinois Medical Center in 1984. My master’s degree is from the University of California at Berkeley with an emphasis on nutrition and health education.

I currently coordinate the Pediatric Lipid Clinic; a Kaiser program for families with genetic dyslipidemias (hereditary causes for lipid and cholesterol disorders). In the program, our team conducts evaluations and consults with pediatricians on the best way to reduce the child's risk for early cardiovascular disease. As a nutritionist I work with the families to help them understand the role nutrition plays in reducing their future risk as well.

I have traveled extensively in Europe exploring the culture and dietary habits of European people. I have lectured on the Mediterranean diet and cultural foodways in the US and abroad and currently organizes cooking tours in Italy. My philosophy is that fresh whole foods are the foundation to health, taste, and longevity.
