Margie Cohea, RN, MS
Regional Neurofibromatosis (NF) Clinic Coordinator

Welcome to the Genetics Multi-Specialty Clinics at Oakland Kaiser!

About Me

I have been a nurse coordinator in the Department of Genetics at Kaiser Oakland since 1995. For the first 11 years I worked in the Regional Craniofacial Program. I then had the opportunity to work in the Regional Neurofibromatosis (NF) Program helping to develop the Adult NF clinic. I now work in both the Adult and Pediatric NF Clinics. Both the Craniofacial and Neurofibromatosis Clinics offer an interdisciplinary team approach along with a case management model. I strongly believe in the interdisciplinary team and case management approach and enjoy working in the Department of Genetics.

My educational background consists of a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing along with Public Health Certification and a Master’s degree in Health Education. My professional career has included work in adult acute care hospital nursing, neonatal intensive care and pediatric nursing including, pediatric cardiology, research, public health and discharge planning.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
