Mountain View Psychiatry Department's Philosophy

As your clinicians, we want to provide the best care possible for you. We believe in treating the whole person with the focus on mind-body wellness. At this clinic, we can offer you group therapy, individual therapy, and medication evaluation depending on our comprehensive assessment of what would be the best care for your particular problem. We, as therapists, believe that group therapy is very helpful and is an important benefit we can offer our members. We are particularly skilled in bringing this form of treatment to our members. At our clinic, we offer a comfortable and welcoming environment for members to come and receive treatment. We look forward to working with you.

I graduated with a B.A. Honors in Psychology in 1983 from Delhi University and a M.A. in Social Work from the premier school of Social Work in India – Tata Institute of Social Sciences.I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1994 from California School of Professional Psychology and have been licensed as a psychologist since 1995. I received the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy Graduate Student Research Award in 1993.

I completed my postdoctoral training in child neuropsychological assessment at Child Development Center of Children's Hospital, Oakland and at Kaiser Permanente Oakland, Department of Psychiatry with rotations in Adult Outpatient, Alcohol and Drug Treatment, and Children's Services. My Interests

Professionally, I really enjoy doing clinical work with both individuals and groups. I incorporate cognitive behavioral and other approached to treatment. I am especially interested in working with patients in a collaborative manner that encompasses individual and cultural sensitivity, a preventive approach, enhancing self care, identifying strengths, and teaching skills to more effectively deal with their problems.

Personally, I enjoy traveling, photography, learning to play the piano, reading and spending quality time with my family and friends.

I am fluent in English and Hindi.
