About Me
I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, a beautiful island in the Caribbean, and left after high school to go to college in Atlanta. Since then I have jumped around the country a bit – I called Connecticut and New York City home for a few years until I moved to the Bay Area in 2006. I love the Bay area: the weather, nature, culture and the people. What’s not to love?
I started working at Kaiser in 2006 and have truly enjoyed my experience so far. Kaiser allows me to focus on taking care of patients, which is the reason I became a doctor. I love being a doctor in the field of Dermatology. The skin is a fascinating organ of the body; it is a lot more complex and important than most people think! Our skin is our waterproof barrier. It is how we sense and adjust to our surroundings. It moves with us and is constantly changing and replacing itself. The skin never ceases to amaze me.
As a Dermatologist I help male and female patients of all ages. I treat a myriad of skin conditions using my mind and my hands. I really enjoy doing skin surgery – removing moles and growths as well as cancers from the skin. These are usually minor procedures but the outcomes can be very rewarding.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with friends and loved ones, especially my husband Ya-Bing. I enjoy baking, eating at new restaurants, exploring the Bay area or Wine country, shopping and watching a good movie or TV show. I love to travel and some places I want to visit soon include Australia, China, Japan, India, Eastern Europe, Brazil… In the future I hope to see and learn a lot more about the world.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
