Welcome to my home page. My specialty is neurology. Neurologists diagnose and treat disorders of the nervous system. This includes the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord), as well as peripheral nervous system (nerves, muscles, and neuromuscular junction). Common problems treated by neurologists include seizures, headaches, peripheral neuropathy, movement disorders (such as Parkinson’s disease), stroke, dementia, and multiple sclerosis.

I joined The Permanente Medical Group in 2006, right out of fellowship and residency. Here I can focus on taking care of patients, not on paperwork or dealing with insurance companies. I am fortunate to be surrounded by many colleagues that I can learn from. Also, Kaiser has many opportunities for continuing medical education for physicians, to ensure that we stay up to date in our medical specialties. Having electronic medical records and ordering medications and tests by computer makes health care more efficient and information readily available to all health care providers.

I look forward to meeting you in the clinic or in the hospital. I encourage patients to learn more about their health issues through reliable sources on the Internet. As a physician, one of my roles is to educate patients; I hope to learn from my patients as well. I also recommend that patients sign up on the Kaiser Permanente web site to use secure messaging to communicate with their doctors. That is a good way to communicate with me.

When I’m not in the clinic or hospital I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
