Welcome to My Home Page!

I have practiced with Kaiser Permanente since I moved to Fresno in 1992. Prior to that I had extensive experience in the rural health emergency room setting in Colorado. I also worked in urgent care at Kaiser Permanente in Denver.

From 1992-2002 I worked in the Fresno Medical Center as a staff internist. During this time I was heavily involved in management, serving as chief of Urgent Care, sub-chief of Medicine, and president of the medical staff.

My practice location changed to Kaiser Permanente's Oakhurst Medical Offices in 2002 through early 2008 where I continued my general internal medicine practice while serving as team lead of the clinic. During this time I am most proud of how we provided personal, comprehensive care to our members in this beautiful mountain community.

In March of 2008 I transferred to the Dermatology Department in Fresno. During my Internal Medicine residency I obtained extra training in Dermatology, which continued to be a special area of interest and practice during my years in Fresno and Oakhurst. At this time I feel very fortunate to be able to specialize in skin diseases in the context of the whole person from my background in general medicine. We have a great, friendly staff of registered nurses, medical assistants and receptionists that assure your trip to Dermatology is as pleasant, personal and efficient as possible in addressing your needs. As throughout my career I continue to emphasize prevention in my approach to disease. It is amazing how a good diet, sun protection and not smoking can prevent many skin disorders.

I continue to be in the unique position here at Kaiser Permanente where doctors can do the right thing for the patient. Our tremendous resources include information technology, chronic disease management and an integrated system of doctors of all specialties.

On a personal note, I am married with two children in their 20's. Our family has thrived very well in California. I consider myself an outdoorsman, exercise enthusiast and a bit of a diet nut.

I am looking forward to addressing your medical needs at Kaiser Permanente First Street Dermatology.
