This home page is a great resource for information about your health. It also gives me an opportunity to introduce myself. As I spend time getting to know each of my patients, I want to be sure that each of my patients get to know about me as well.

About Me

I am a neurologist at Santa Clara Kaiser. I joined Kaiser in 2006 and moved to the Bay Area at that time to be closer to my husband’s family. I am originally from Massachusetts and I have lived in the northeast through most of my life. During my training, I attended Brown University where I graduated with honors in Human Biology and Political Science. I then moved to New York where I graduated from medical school from Columbia University in 2001; I stayed on to complete my residency training and fellowship. My clinical training was primarily at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. The one exception is my internship, which was completed at Lenox Hill Hospital, an affiliate of New York University.

I am board certified in the practice of neurology and am also board certified in the practice of electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies. My professional memberships include the American Academy of Neurology and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

My Interests

The primary focus of my practice is on general neurology, though I have subspecialty training and an ongoing interest in the treatment of neuromuscular diseases and the diagnostic use of electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies.

In addition to the time I spend with patients in neurology clinic, I am also the Chief of Patient Education for the medical center. I am very interested in helping patients to learn about living a healthy lifestyle, about the diseases they have and also how to prevent those diseases that are preventable. Please feel free to ask me about these things when we meet.

When not at work I enjoy time with family, time outdoors hiking or camping and gardening at home.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
