My Biography

Physical activity has been a large source of enjoyment for me since my childhood. Keeping healthy has been essential in maintaining my ability to do the things I enjoy most. Working in the Occupational Health Department gives me the opportunity to help people return to physical activity after injury. I am amazed at the body’s healing ability and have always been very interested in maximizing that ability. My work as a pool physician brought me into contact with Kaiser Permanente’s fantastic Occupational Medicine team. The prospect of working with them and becoming a part of the Kaiser Permanente system, as well as being able to take advantage of the many opportunities Kaiser Permanente provides, made the decision to come to Kaiser Permanente San Francisco an easy one. Here, the emphasis on patient care allows me time to get to know my patients. I am delighted with the extent of support that the organization offers to its employees.

Away from the medical center, I enjoy gardening, swimming, windsurfing, snowboarding, kiteboarding, hockey and playing golf. The last favorite book I read was Harry Potter! I live with my wife and son in San Francisco.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
