My Biography

Kaiser Permanente has been a pioneer in the avocation of preventive care to defer and manage disease. Through the Health Education department, we offer an extensive and comprehensive array of programs designed to meet the varied needs of our members.

My main passions are nutrition and fitness, and especially their role in the prevention and treatment of obesity. I spent several years counseling clients in individualized nutrition and personal fitness plans. With Kaiser Permanente I am able to use my interest and experience to affect a greater population. I continue to be impressed with the quality of the existing, cutting-edge programs as well as the development of new ones.

Here at the San Francisco medical center, I head the Weight Management Task Force Committee, and serve as the facility Champion for Healthy Weight, Smoking Cessation and Women’s Health. I also organize our Employee Wellness Challenges, so we can show that we’re walking our talk!

I am an avid runner, but also love yoga, spinning, hiking and camping. I enjoy reading fiction as well as books and journals on nutrition.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
