My Practice Philosophy

My special interests include resident education, menopause issues and weight management in pregnancy.

About Me

I was born and raised here in California. I went to Stanford University for undergraduate school where I played women's basketball and volleyball (until practices got in the way of my pre-med courses). I graduated from Stanford in 1974. St. Louis was my home for four years during medical school and I was introduced to tornadoes (give me an earthquake any day). After finishing St. Louis University’s School of Medicine in 1978, my residency in Ob/Gyn started in San Diego where I spent two years then transferred to a busier program at UC Irvine where I trained under some of the well-known experts in our field. I stayed at Kaiser in Anaheim for 7 years. Then I moved up here in 1989 to be closer to my nieces and nephews. I am board certified with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. I enjoy working with our resident physicians who have an amazing desire to learn. Through this, I received the 2008 Teaching Award for Excellence in Graduate Medical Education. I have very high expectations for the residents who are supported and nurtured through during patient interactions, clinic, hospital duties, surgeries, research, and lectures. Helping to teach them keeps me more up-to-date for my practice.

My Interests

I performed my "Auntly duties of entertaining and expanding the horizons" of my brother's offspring until they all went away to college. My activities then turned to hiking, biking, an occasional backpacking trip and more recently, kayaking. I still watch the Stanford Women's Basketball team and envy their support. I like hiking, biking, and spending time at our cabin in the mountains. One of my favorite things to do is to spoil my nieces and nephews. Now that they are all off to college, I spoil my pets.

I want to be certain all of your concerns are addressed. If you forget to ask a question during your visit, you may leave me a message at the above telephone number. Either, I, or my medical assistant, will return your call.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
