Welcome!
I am pleased to offer my home page as a means to introduce myself and to provide you with high-quality health information through useful handouts and helpful web links.
About me
Hi! My name is Rukiye Yoltar and I joined the Kaiser Permanente Department of Medicine in October 2005. I am a general Internist - that means my practice is exclusively adult medicine. My patient population ranges in age from 18 to 101! That makes my job a lot of fun. I enjoy meeting and working with men and women of all ages, addressing the various health concerns that occur over the course of a life time. My main goal with all my patients is to be their partner, helping them to be as healthy as they can be. I am in clinic most days and try to make my schedule as open as possible for appointments. If you are unable to get an appointment with me, please send me a message and I will return your call or e-mail as soon as possible.
Non medical facts about me
Born in Istanbul, Turkey, lived in different European countries. Spent a year with an American family as an exchange student, graduated from Marion High school, VA. I still keep in touch with my American family who taught me about American values and American way of living. Travelled around the world, and moved to America in 1995. I speak Turkish, English, German, Italian and Spanish well. I might throw in a few French words if I have to. I just moved to California and I am loving it.
My qualifications
I received my medical degree from Hacettepe University, School of Medicine and completed my residency in Jewish Hospital of Cincinnati, OH. I worked in private practice in El Dorado, AR. I taught in AHEC Family Practice Residency as an associated Professor. I am board certified in Internal Medicine and am also a member of the American Medical Association. I joined The Permanente Medical group very recently. For more information regarding my education, training and credentials, please read my credential section below.
My Healthcare Practice
Some of my favorite philosophies:
Treat others the same way you want to be treated!
Do the right thing!
Be honest with yourself!
Pills can't fix everything!
Care about yourself! Stop making excuses!
My patients have the power! They don't realize it yet. It is my privilege to help them to achieve their individual health care goals.
My Outside Interests
I love to visit wineries and learn about wine making and some tasting goes along with it too. Of course travelling will always be my number one hobby. I would love to visit Australia this year and go snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef. You will see some pictures from my Colorado and Santa Fe trip on my web site pretty soon. I also have great interest in art and architecture. I am a member of the "Society of Preservation of Old Turkish Houses". Just check out out my web page to see great pictures of Turkish architecture. I like abstract paintings. If there is an exhibition, I will be there! I love to cook and entertain and I believe good wine and good food bring friends together.
