About Me

I grew up outside of New York City and went to Harvard College as an undergraduate. I attended medical school and completed urology residency at Albert Einstein in New York. I was in practice in New York and then left to pursue a fellowship in minimally-invasive urology (laparoscopy and robotics) at the University of Rochester. After this, I came to the Bay Area and joined Kaiser Permanente in 2005.

I enjoy the practice of medicine as it provides a unique opportunity to use one's expertise to benefit patients while interacting on a personal basis with them. I am interested in new technology, including laparoscopy and robotics and am excited to apply this to the care of our patients in urology and medicine in general.

After hours, I enjoy being outdoors with friends and family and particularly enjoy the sport of orienteering. I also enjoy playing music and have played viola for many years.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
