My Practice Philosophy

I want your experience with me at the Campbell Psychiatry Clinic to include feelings of comfort and respect. I draw from many theoretical bases in my practice and have an active and interactive style that is fluid and dynamic without compromising on careful listening. As a social worker, I view clients in the context of their environments so that change in one area influences all areas. I continue to find my work engaging because each of you brings a unique story and with it the honor to be invited into your life.

About Me

I was born in a small town in Iowa and raised in Boulder, Colorado. My undergraduate degree is from Methodist College, now known as Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina where I was a member of the Honor Society. I went on to receive a Master's in Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, home of the famous Tarheels basketball team.

I started my Social Work career with the Veterans Administration Hospital associated with Duke University, in both the hospital and outpatient clinics. I moved to the West Coast to join the National Center for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

I joined Kaiser in 1994 as the Chief Social Worker for the Department of Psychiatry. I currently serve as the Clinical Manger of the Campbell Psychiatry Clinic and as the Chair of the Adult Service Chiefs of Psychiatry for Northern California Kaiser.

My Interest

I enjoy travel, reading, Tarheels basketball, singing, cultural endeavors, and spending time with my daughter.

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
