Thank you for visiting my home page. Please take a moment to get to know me as well as many of the resources that are available to you through the Kaiser website as well as when you come for a visit at the eye clinic.

I became interested in ophthalmology during medical school when I was given an extraordinary chance to work with doctors in a large county hospital eye clinic. My interest in retinal surgery came from a long-term fascination with neurobiology and microsurgery. After more than ten years of experience in this field I can really appreciate the long years of training because I believe it is necessary to deliver the highest quality of care to patients with retinal problems. It is my goal to continually update my knowledge and skills to ensure that my patients receive excellent care. The continuing medical educational opportunity at Kaiser is tremendous and one of the reasons I chose to be here. I also enjoy the enriching experience of working alongside the other superb physicians at Kaiser.

I enjoy working with patients with all varieties of retinal conditions. I have a special interest in retinal vascular diseases including diabetic retinopathy and retinal complications of hypertension.

In my spare time, I enjoy being with my family, playing music, exercising, and tinkering with the computer. I speak English and a fair amount of Spanish.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
