My Practice Philosophy

As a hospitalist, I specialize in caring for patients with acute conditions, needing urgent/emergent treatment in the hospital. I am a strong believer in multi-disciplinary approach to health care with collaborative efforts from patients, specialists, and supporting staff.

My experience as family member of a patient has deepened my commitment to the personalization of care; I believe this is an integral part of the healing process. Here at Santa Clara Kaiser Permanente, we strive to provide care that is comprehensive and compassionate.

About Me

I attended UCLA for my undergraduate education. I went on to graduate from New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York in 2001. I completed my residency training at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2004 after completing my medical training. Having the opportunity to live on both coasts, I consider the Bay Area as home for its wonderful climate, cultural diversity, and close proximity to my family. I am board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

I am a member of the American College of Physicians, Santa Clara County Medical Association, Stanford University School of Medicine; Affiliated Clinical Instructor.

My Interests

Professionally, my interest is medical education and medical volunteering (locally and abroad) with my wife who is also a physician. In addition to English, I speak Chinese (Mandarin).

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
