About Me

I was raised in California and attended California schools from elementary through graduate school, with a brief stint to Alaska during my training to explore rural medicine. I’ve been a Kaiser Permanente member since I was in 4th grade; I grew up appreciating the simplicity of Kaiser Permanente appointments, ancillary services, even obtaining medication. Kaiser Permanente has always embodied a type of healthcare that was all encompassing, thorough and compassionate.

After graduate school, I had further training in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine and enjoy the variety of medical challenges that Emergency Medicine patients present.

I’m married to an incredible man and we have three small children; our entire family likes to be outside more than inside, we hike daily (or bike or walk or run or scooter…) and have a houseful of animals that the kids like to care for, we have one TV but I can’t even tell you the last time we turned it on… I am an avid runner, you’ll find me running 6 days a week and I’m usually running a race at least once every few months. My husband is an exceptionally talented musician and pastor. We enjoy camping, backpacking, climbing and pretty much anything that gets us out into the great surroundings of this amazing environment of California. I was a vegetarian for 20+ years and within the past 2-3 years turned to the paleo diet and haven’t felt healthier than I do now.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
