Welcome to my home page!

Please explore the many items on my web page. Please note that Pediatric Health Information includes information on common pediatric problems, newborns & breast feeding, weight management issues, travel shots, well care, and immunizations. The Multimedia Page (Educational Videos and Radio Broadcasts) is another great resource available to you. It's a great resource for parents! This is a resource for you to get questions and information about common pediatric problems via the internet 24 hours a day.

This webpage has some great links that may help you as parents learn more about taking care of your child, as well as how to deal with some common illnesses that your child may encounter. Below is some information about myself and how our clinic works.

About me: I went to college and medical school at Boston University, attending their Six-Year Liberal Arts/Medical Program. I graduated this accelerated program in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Medical Degree, minoring in English literature and majoring in Medical Science.

I did my Pediatric Residency from 1990-1993 at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, working both at Texas Children's Hospital and Ben Taub County Hospital.

I am a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

I have been working with Kaiser Permanente at Milpitas since 1993. It has been and continues to be a wonderful privilege to care for your children and watch them grow up!

As of August 2010, I have transferred to the Kaiser Permanente clinic in Campbell which is closer to home. I am looking forward to meeting new families and building my practice back up again. I am grateful for the Milpitas families who will be following me to Campbell!

I am married and have two daughters and a dog (a black lab, who is a retired guide dog). My wonderful husband has the patience and fortitude to take on the stay-at-home parent role, while I get the easier role of going to work every day. At the time of this writing, my children are 5 and 6-1/2 years old. Having children has made me a better pediatrician in that I now understand just how hard it is to be a parent! It's easy to give good advice. It's so much harder sometimes to follow that advice!

In my free time, you will find me . . . on the soccer field, cheering on my daughters at their soccer games (while my husband is coaching). Or being the parent helper in my daughter's kindergarten class. Or trying to simultaneously cook dinner, help one child with her homework, and help the other child find something she's misplaced. Or perhaps driving my daughters to their swimming class, gymnastics class, or to a friend's house. All of you parents out there know what I mean!

About the pediatric clinic: I work every weekday and half days on Thursdays. It is during these hours that we will schedule your child for routine check-ups or other non-urgent visits. We always try to have same-day availability for sick or urgent visits. On weekends, if your child needs medical advice or care, we have telephone appointments with the doctor as well as clinic appointments with the doctor if indicated (determined by the advice nurse or the telephone physician). Weekend clinics are located at the Santa Clara Homestead facility and run from 8:30am to 5:00pm. Please call our Call Center at 408/871-9440 for appointments or advice. (Sorry - we don't have any walk-in clinics!)

To reach me: Through the Call Center at 408/871-9440, you can speak with a nurse for advice, or make an appointment. You can "e-mail your doctor" (www.kp.org) if you need to send me a message or ask me a question. I reply to these e-mails within 2 business days.

To refill medications: Refill presciptions online (www.kp.org). Try out the mail order refills -- your prescription will be mailed to your house within about a week! You can also refill your medications by phone (24 hours): 1-888-218-6245 (toll free). Our main pharmacy EasyFill number is 408-871-6340. Please call at least one week before you run out of medications.
