About Me

Why I Became a Physician and a Pediatrician

As long as I can remember, I wanted to be a scientist. In high school, I decided that chemistry was most interesting, so I went to the University of San Francisco and majored in chemistry. During my freshman year, though, I realized that I wanted to work closely with people and provide more direct service, which led me to consider a career in pediatrics, since I also enjoyed working with children. Fortunately, I’ve been able to realize my goal and have been a pediatrician for the past 23 years.

Why I Practice at Kaiser Permanente

I’ve practiced in a variety of settings, but I find my practice at Kaiser Permanente Vallejo to be most rewarding. My patients and their families are wonderful, and I have all the resources I need to provide the best care possible.

My Philosophy on Healing

I believe that the most important elements of providing health care are listening, clear communication, availability to answer questions, and teaching. Kaiser Permanente provides me with all the tools and support I need to do the best I can for my patients.

My Interests Outside Medicine

My outside interests include my family, reading, and golf.

Please be aware that although I may not be in the office, I am available for messages Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 5:30. You may also reach me by e-mail (see above). Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
