About Me

I have always been interested in the field of medicine and also physical education, so I decided to blend those interests together and pursue a career as a Physical Therapist. My interests are with the orthopedic, sports medicine, and falls prevention. My specialty is orthopedics and I especially enjoy working with joint conditions such as knees, ankles, etc., and the surgeries that are implicated. Most of the patients I treat are post-op knee patients.

What I have enjoyed most of all is that I have always been made to feel that I can use my abilities to best help my patients. Improvising is what is challenging and Physical Therapy is a field where I always have opportunities to do this. Personalities are always different and so the method changes a bit. Each patient that comes my way is unique in one way or another, so my treatments plans are never cut and dry.

Outside of work I spend time in the garden, exercising, and also volunteer regularly at Habitat for Humanity. Building projects are very attractive to me. I guess I like working with tools.

I was born in Mexico City and had the gift of becoming bilingual at a very early age. This has helped me in many ways throughout my life and is always a benefit as a health care provider.

My Education and Credentials

Physical Therapy Education BS from University of Colorado, Boulder, Colorado
Licensure Physical Therapy Board of California

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
