About Me

Welcome to the Nephrology subspecialty department at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Richmond. I specialize in taking care of acute kidney disease and chronic kidney diseases including those caused by prolonged diabetes and hypertension. In addition, I manage dialysis patients of all types, including in-center hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and home hemodialysis.

I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2007 and have been serving the Oakland and Richmond communities since that time. Being a part of Kaiser Permanente has allowed me to focus my time on caring and educating patients about their kidneys, research and review the latest advances in nephrology, and work with exceptional and compassionate colleagues.

I hope that you will take the time to explore my webpage. You can access many websites that will give you more information about kidney diseases. The “Taking Care of Your Kidneys” video is especially helpful and I would encourage you to check it out. You may also email me directly with questions via the link below. I look forward to working with you to achieve a rich and healthy life.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
