Welcome to My Home Page

I am a certified physician assistant (PA) in the Orthopedics Department at the Kaiser Permanente Sacramento facility. Physician assistants have been part of the health care system since the 1960’s. We practice as part of a team that includes a supervising physician. In general, the scope of what PA's do corresponds to their supervising physician's practice. As a member of an Orthopedic Department, I take care of the same kind of patients and illnesses as our physicians. I diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions. I perform physical exams, develop and carry out treatment plans in the clinic, assist our physicians in surgery, and do hospital rounds to see patients that require a day or more in the hospital. I chose this specialty because I think it is one of the most challenging and very rewarding areas of medicine.

My Practice Philosophy

I practice with one goal in mind – to provide the best care possible to our patients. I treat my patients with the utmost respect. I treat them as if they are my family members. I think a bigger emphasis should be put on patient education; when patients understand the problem and how to deal with it, they can take better care of themselves.

My Tenure With Kaiser Permanente

I have been with Kaiser Permanente since October 2006. Before I came to work in Sacramento, I worked at a private orthopedic practice in Portland, Maine. I never really liked the cold and snow in Maine and always wanted to come back to California. Kaiser Permanente provided that opportunity. I am genuinely proud to work for an institution that makes the quality of care such a high priority.

On a Personal Note. . .

I was born in Russia and lived in the United States since 1994. I originally came to California, but moved to New York to go to school. I received my Master's Degree at Mercy College in New York where I also did my PA training.

I served two years in the Russian military, which taught me dicipline, patience, and perseverance. I played college-level ice hockey and soccer. My current interests include tennis and amateur theater. My wife and I are part of a local community theater group and we do three or four performances every year for a large Russian community in the Sacramento area.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
