My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM). I provide care for women during their pregnancy, labor, delivery and post partum. I have been providing these services for over 20 years.

My Practice Philosophy

I believe women have a choice in their labor plans. The 'baby' is the boss, but as long as the baby is doing well, women need to be able to choose; walking, showering, periodic monitoring, and pushing positions. I believe if we work together the experience can be very rewarding.

My Qualifications

I became an RN in 1977.
I became an OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner in 1980.
I became a Nurse Midwife in 1983.

My Tenure With Kaiser Permanente

I have been with Kaiser Permanente since 1997. I took a break for several years and now I am very happy to have returned.

Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente

Kaiser Permanente provides very integrated prenatal and delivery services. It is wonderful having all care providers available 24 hours in the hospital. We provide you and your baby with all your needs.

Professional Interests & Affiliations

I belong to the national organization for midwives--ACNM. I believe in replenishing our earth -- preserve and save.

On a Personal Note. . .

I began my midwifery services in Arizona. I had a birth center for 10 years. My parents lived with me for 18 years since their health was poor. We moved to California and I have been here since.

I love midwifery.
I built my own log home with my dad.
I have owned two 50's cafes and an antique shop.
I have two great kids, and four wonderful grandchildren. (two I delivered!)
I am married, have many pets, and a nice garden this year!!
