My Practice Philosophy

I believe in providing state of the art care of the highest quality to all patients. I also pride myself on communicating effectively with my patients as well as my ability to collaborate with other health care providers.

About Me

I was born and raised in North Carolina. I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for undergraduate education in Chemistry. I graduated from Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2005 and Harvard Medical School in 2008. I completed a six-year residency training program in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. This training includes time at Children’s Hospital in Boston. A significant portion of my clinical training and research has focused on pediatric maxillofacial surgery and minimally invasive maxillofacial surgery.

I completed an AO/Synthes Research Fellowship in Pediatric Craniomaxillofacial Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2011. I speak English and conversational French.

My Interests

I enjoy the practice of maxillofacial surgery with particular interests in corrective jaw surgery, oral pathology, temporomandibular joint surgery, as well as pediatric maxillofacial surgery. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two daughters. We enjoy the company of dogs in our home and family activities. I like to cycle, hike and am an avid fan of college basketball.

Awards and Professional Affiliations

I have published several research manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals as well as book chapters in leading texts in maxillofacial surgery. I have also given lectures and numerous research presentations at national conferences.

I am a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
