Please note that my office hours are variable. I am at the Injury Center most Mondays, but am in the Emergency Department most other days.

My Biography
Kaiser Permanente’s comprehensive model of care is the best way to deliver both preventative and curative health care. Within this integrated system, I have the autonomy to focus exclusively on patient care, without worrying about insurance company concerns or patients’ ability to pay, and without devoting time to front-office matters. The benefits of a comprehensive system are numerous. For example, patients can see their referral physicians, fill prescriptions, complete laboratory work, and see specialists right here on-site. In addition, those members who have registered on kp.org may refill prior prescriptions, request most appointments, review lab test results, and exchange confidential messages with providers on their care team, all online, at their convenience.
I have lived in the Bay Area since 1989. I grew up in Wisconsin, went to medical school in Texas, and then lived in Manhattan for seven years. So I have been north, south, east and west. I love doing things outdoors (skiing, windsurfing, I ride my bike to work) and I enjoy the many cultural advantage of San Francisco. I play guitar and sing in a garage band, The Legends of Sleepy Hollow. I have been married for 21 years and have two daughters, a 19-year-old and a 16-year-old.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
