My Biography

I have 20 years of experience in the nursing field. Prior to becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist I worked as a critical care nurse at Washington Hospital center in Washington DC for 5 years. I chose to study anesthesia because I like the autonomy of the nurse anesthesia practice. It is also a natural extension of my critical care skills. In anesthesia I’ve worked in many types of settings - from hospital-based to office-based.

When I was planning to relocate back to San Francisco, I chose to work at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco because of the collegial environment here. We also have state of the art equipment and well-staffed departments.

On a personal note, I was an accomplished equestrian until my late 40's, now I am trying new hobbies that are a bit easier on my body like hiking and yoga. I have a pretty consistent workout routine. I walk to and from work. I take time for the people I care about. I try to eat alot of leafy greens, drink lots of water, take antioxidants and try to get all the sleep I can!

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
