It is my goal to deliver excellent care and compassion to my patients.

I was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. I received my undergraduate degree from University of Dublin Health Sciences in Dublin, Ireland. I continued at University of Dublin where I graduated with my medical degree in 1981. I performed my internship at St. Vincent’s University Hospital, also in Dublin, Ireland. I came to the United States to complete my internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, from 1983-1986. Next, I completed a fellowship in nephrology at the University of California, San Francisco from 1986-1990.

In 1988, I was certified in Nephrology and also by the American Board of Internal Medicine. I joined the Permanente Medical Group in 1989. I have been practicing Nephrology at Kaiser Santa Clara ever since. Professionally, my interest is in acute renal failure.

My titles at Kaiser Santa Clara include Clinical Associate Professor for Stanford University Medical School. Besides taking care of patients, I teach Stanford Medical Students and mentor Medical Residents in the field of Nephrology. I am also a Fellow in the American College of Physicians. Lastly, I am the Medical Director of the Hypertension Clinic at Kaiser Santa Clara.

I am a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Nephrologists.

In my spare time I enjoy playing golf and rugby.
