Please take some time to explore the links that our department has highlighted for you, and feel free to read on if you would like to learn more about me.

About Me

My interest in Physical Therapy began in high school. After completing my B.A. degree in Physical Education at the University of Montana in 1975, I attended the Mayo Clinic School of Health Related Sciences and received a Certificate in Physical Therapy in 1977.

I enjoy being in a profession that can make such a difference in the quality of life for people. My special clinical interest is orthopedics. My background experience includes hospital, private practice, and home health care before starting with the Kaiser Permanente Physical Therapy Outpatient Department in Walnut Creek in 1986. As a mother of two, I appreciate the flexible schedule here which allows me to blend the jobs of Mom and Physical Therapist.

I believe that a successful outcome in Physical Therapy is a combined team effort of the physical therapist’s skills and teaching, and the patient’s motivation to improve and to utilize good self management principles.

When away from work I enjoy my family activities (camping, skiing, bike riding and traveling) as well as my time volunteering in sports, Girl Scouts, and Boy Scouts. I’m active in the PTA (Parent Teacher Association) at the local and county level.

My Education and Credentials

Undergraduate Education BS in Physical Education, University of Montana

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
