Greetings and welcome to my home page!

I have been a long term believer in the integrated medical delivery system Kaiser provides! I began my medical career as a registered nurse, working in the original Kaiser San Rafael ED. I went on to become a Family Nurse Practitioner and worked in private practice before attending medical school at UC San Francisco. I returned to the San Rafael Emergency Department after a residency in Emergency Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in 1990 and consider Kaiser my ‘Home Base’. I am SR Kaiser’s liaison to the Emergency Medical Services Agency of Marin County. I have served as the Medical Director for San Rafael and Corte Madera Paramedic Programs since 1995 and enjoy assisting the paramedics bring quality care to the residents of Marin.

I was raised in Marin County and attended Sir Francis Drake High School and College of Marin before attending Sonoma State University and UCSF. My family roots, 5 brothers and sisters and extended family live in Marin. My daughter, Tiffany and co-equestrian addict is a college student at University of San Francisco. I spend most of my off hours riding and competing with my 17 hand horse, Hoppi, in the sport called ‘3 Day Eventing’ consisting of dressage and jumping. I am a gardening enthusiast, love to travel and study ancient civilizations. Each spring I travel with a volunteer medical mission group to deliver medical care in remote, underserved regions of Guatemala.

I believe in seat belts, helmets and protective gear for sport enthusiasts to avoid unnecessary injuries that might interrupt your life! I am always happy to help you and your loved ones if you become ill or injured while I am on duty in your ED at San Rafael!
