Hi there,

My name is Dr. Vijay Singh. I am Indian in origin, but grew up in West Africa and then moved to Ireland. My family then moved to India, where I went to high school and then to Medical school in the state of Punjab. It was during medical school where I became interested in medical research.

In 1992, I moved to San Francisco and became a clinical research fellow at UC San Francisco and pursued research in the area of prostate cancer for two years. In 1994, I went to medical school at the University of Nevada in Reno. I then went into the field of hospital medicine and worked as a hospital physician at a 525-bed level II trauma center for 6 years.

In 2003, I decided to move to the Sacramento area where I joined Kaiser Permanente and have continued to work in the Department of Hospital Medicine since.

I enjoy the complexities, acuity, and challenges in the field of hospital medicine. It also affords the opportunity to work with the hospital and specialty staff as a team to provide a high level of multidisciplinary care in the hospital setting.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking and water sports and have taken time to learn flying in the recent past. I also enjoy traveling and experiencing new places and appreciate the great diversity of different cultures and enjoy assimilating these experiences whenever time permits to travel to different places.

My Credentials

Medical school Punjab University Dayanand Medical College, Ludhiana, India
Residency University of Nevada School of Medicine, Reno, NV

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
