I am pleased to offer my home page as a means to introduce myself and to provide you with high quality health information.
I joined Kaiser Permanente in South Sacramento in March 1999. After finishing a fellowship in nephrology at UC Davis Medical Center in the summer of 1993, I joined the faculty at UC Davis Medical Center in the division of Nephrology and practiced clinical medicine; in addition, I taught housestaff and fellows. I was also involved in clinical research.
After seven wonderful years at UC Davis Medical Center, I had a very exciting opportunity to join Kaiser Permanente, South Sacramento, and take lead of the Nephrology (kidney) department. I have a special interest in seeing patients with chronic kidney conditions, polycystic kidney disease, patients with protein in the urine and abnormal kidney tests. I share the practice with two other associates, and we provide quality care of patients before and after kidney and kidney-pancreas transplantation in close collaboration with our associated transplant program. We also provide comprehensive care for patients on dialysis and peritoneal dialysis in close collaboration with our contracted dialysis clinics. My practice time is divided in seeing patients in the hospital, clinic and dialysis units.
I have been a Sacramento resident since 1991; I grew up in India, completed my medical training there and came to the United States in 1987. In 1991, I completed my medical residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. I am a member of the American Society of Nephrology, the National Kidney Foundation and the American College of Physicians.
I enjoy cycling, golf, travel and spending time with my wife and daughter.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
