About me

I was born in Los Angeles, California and graduated from UCLA with a degree in Public Health. I attended medical school at UC San Diego, and completed my internship there in Internal Medicine in 1986. After my internship, I spent one year pursuing various exciting interests which included working on a Navajo reservation in Arizona, doing 3 months of volunteer work at a hospital in rural Kenya, and trekking through Nepal. Following completion of my last 2 years of residency at UC Davis in 1989. I spent 1 ½ years working at Kaiser in Fresno and doing volunteer work in Mexico with an organization called Liga International. In 1991, I happily returned to Sacramento as an Internal Medicine physician at the South Sacramento Medical Center. I also have a special interest in Women’s Health and Osteoporosis so I received additional training in Bone Densitometry, which eventually led me to a residency as a Nuclear Medicine physician which I now practice.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
