My Biography
Originally from Texas, I came to the Bay Area to complete my fellowship at the University of California at San Francisco. I chose to work at Kaiser Permanente because we strive for exceptional delivery of medical care, which is something I wanted to be a part of. I also appreciate the teamwork and camaraderie that I find across specialties and departments. Our members may rest assured that they are receiving high-quality care.
As a pathologist, I am particularly interested in cytopathology. I find it fascinating to be able to use a minimally-invasive procedure from which I can subsequently extract a large amount of significant information. The most gratifying parts of my work are the opportunity I have to perform biopsies, and the ability to provide patients with answers.
In my free time, I enjoy reading (David Sedaris is one of my favorite authors), watching movies and silly reality TV shows, attending concerts, visiting museums, and traveling. I exercise a few times each week, usually doing cardio and weight training, and some running. Best of all, I THRIVE through resting, an action that, in my opinion, is often overlooked as being part of healthy. I have two adorable cats named Bullet and Patches, who keep me on my toes!

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
