I was born and raised in Chennai, India. As a volunteer in Red Cross camps, I helped take of care of sick people and this inspired me to become a physician. I received my medical degree at Kilpauk Medical College, India. I moved to the USA in 1995. I received my residency training in Internal Medicine at Illlinois Masonic Medical Center, Chicago.

I worked as a hospitalist in Chicago before joining the Permanente Medical Group in 2003. I enjoy practicing medicine as it is very challenging and ever changing. Taking care of sick patients and helping them get better is very gratifying.

When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family and listening to music.

My Credentials

Medical school Kilpauk Medical College, Madras, Tamilnadu, India
Residency Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Chicago, IL
Board certification Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
